Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2014 By: Joy14 Comments

Well, it’s Halloween, and tonight I’m going to be dressing my little girl up in a green tutu skirt and green fairy wings and taking her to my Churches Trunk or Treat.

How are you celebrating?

Are you celebrating?

HappyHalloweenGrowing up my family never celebrated Halloween, I talked a bit about that last year in my post: Happy Halloween? A Lesson in Fears and Idols. But now as an adult I enjoy the idea of letting my daughter dress up and have some fun.

Anyway, I’ve not been posting very much this last month. I hope for that to change. My last post I talked about having a tooth that needed pulling, well I finally got it pulled on Tuesday and hopefully I can now, finally, recover and start getting back to my life.

It’s funny in a way, I’d been learning so much about thankfulness and gratitude in difficult circumstances, and then PAIN happens, and I confess my gratitude was much harder to find. Of course, thinking itself was rather difficult for me this past month.

In some ways I almost feel like a whole month was skipped. I called the dentist on the second, and now it is Halloween, and I’m finally feeling like I can do life again.

Face it, life gets rough sometimes, and painful.

How can I stay grateful?

Can I stay grateful?

When facing life and its horrors, can I stay grateful?

Well, for today I choose to be grateful. Grateful for two-year-olds in sparkly tutus and fairy-wings. Grateful for friends and grateful for family. And grateful that this month has passed and a new month is upon us, a month when so many of us choose to count blessings and be grateful.

Have a Happy Halloween!

Meanwhile, check out this awesome bundle that I’m going to be promoting soon! Click the ad! CLICK IT!

No, seriously, you really want to click it!

Im glad to hear you are feeling better. Choosing to be grateful… very important lesson in that. It’s really hard to do that sometimes, but with the Lord’s strength we can! 🙂

I was doing so well too! Well, I am resolved, I am going to make up all the ground I lost while laying on the couch feeling miserable! 🙂

Glad you are on the mend! I have a two-year-old also, a boy. He dressed up as a duckie this year. We went to just a few places of people we know and love, and then took him out for dinner at Chik-fil-a where he met Spiderman….he loved that….LOL. Then it was home to spend some time together as a family. Grateful, yes. We are to give thanks in all circumstances, even the painful ones! God is there with us through it all, and for that…..we can always give thanks!

Our pastor was dressed up as batman at my church Trunk or Treat. He had this basket full of candy and kept egging my girl on, “Take more! Keep going” We all were laughing so hard! I have no idea what I’m going to do with all this candy! The consumption will definitely be carefully monitored! 🙂

I celebrated Halloween by dressing up and volunteering at my church’s fall festival. I dressed as a fairy! My husband and I also do a “date” night of special snacks and Halloween favorites- such as The Great Pumpkin and Frankenweenie!
