Where a Bubble Goes
A Poem By Joy Aletheia Stevens
~
I wonder where a bubble goes
When it pops and dies.
Does it go to a bubble heaven
Hidden in the skies?
Where it will never pop again,
But flies and flies and flies.
~
A vapors breath is all it has
In its little life.
Does it seem long and vast,
And so very blithe?
Or does a bubble know its passing frame
And value, more, another life?
~
And is my life as transient
As this bubble that I see?
And was this life all that I’m meant
To value and mean much to me?
Or should I keep my eyes on what’s ahead
And value, more, eternity?
~
For my life is like a vapors passing,
A bubble that pops and dies.
But then comes true life, and its more lasting
Than anything yet realized.
So I’ll not value what is fading
I know that is not wise.
~
What is solid, what is true,
Here will my treasure be.
I’ll value God, I’ll value you,
For here my heart is meant to be.
And let my heart never move,
For only here can it be free!
~
My heart will soar like a bubble goes!
And when this mortal body dies,
My heart will soar on the winds of heaven,
Before His glorious eyes!
Never will death come again!
My heart flies and flies and flies!
