Warrior Princess
A Poem, by Joy Aletheia Stevens
~
Lord what are you doing with me tonight?
What is Your wish for my life?
To what places will You take my mind?
Look, where my heart, to find?
~
I have no other conclusion,
Than to look past all this life’s dilution,
To see the light of day!
Oh! For my heart to stay!
~
Lord, why do I wander alone?
Till my heart is dry as bone?
Why can’t I stay in grace?
I long to see Your face!
~
Oh God, my life’s confusion,
It, so full of delusion,
All this has distracted me.
From this, please set me free!
~
For I know this world is a lie.
The real is deeper than our, “Why?”
We must look past the flesh,
See what is truer than all of this!
~
Pull back the curtain in front of you.
Your youngest instinct is very true!
There is more here than what is seems,
Our reality is what is the dream!
~
God, pull back the curtain from my eyes!
Let me see past all Satan’s lies!
To see truly what is going on,
Before the heat of battle is gone!
~
I’m not distracted anymore!
I know the center of my hearts core!
I see around me there is a war!
And I am a mighty Warrior!
~
There is something more real than real!
This is something I always can feel.
I am not bound by my flesh!
I am my King’s Warrior Princess!
~
On the battlefield I am deadly.
The strongest warriors must flee.
I will worship in truth and mind.
My God! My King! He Shines!
~
The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.
One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
Psalm 27:1-4
