Guess where I am? Go ahead and guess!
I know, I’ve been giving construction updates on Mondays right? You want to know how the new site is coming!
Well I’ll get to that.
But first let me just share why I’m NOT going to be doing much work on the site this week. And why this post, in reality, was written and finalized to be scheduled for today, two days ago.
Because right now, this minute, I’m not available.
Sure this post hit your Facebook feed, or wherever you see it. But I’m not available.
Ah the joy of automating posts.
Because I…
Well look at that picture!
That, my friend, is where I am.
You jealous?
You should be! I have no electricity, I have no plumbing, I have no cell reception or internet service.
I am unplugged!
Ok so maybe now you’re not so jealous. I still think you should be, but maybe outhouses don’t appeal to you.
That, my friend, is Wrights Lake, and to me it is a bit of Heaven on Earth!
But to the website!
I didn’t quite get as much done last week as I would have liked to, because I had relatives from out of state visiting and they took precedence. I didn’t mind that of course. The photo count needing to be done is down to about 80.
Last week was all about connections. Figuring out how to get things properly connected to social sites, trying to get newsletter subscriptions forms running, finding social share buttons, connecting to Google everywhere.
I’ve an idea, and I hope I get to implement it. I have my CafePress shop up and running in a rudimentary kind of way, and I’d like to get kicked off on opening day by having a sort of sale! I’m going to try decreasing my commission price and let my readers think about purchasing some The Joyful Truth products for a lowered price for a limited time. Good idea? I’m not sure I’ll be able to get it done in time, but its a thought and might make opening day more special.
Once I get home from camping I’ll have a week and a half to finish getting ready to open up the site! I hope I’ll be ready! Will you be? Mark those Calendars! September 1st will be here soon! Make sure you stop by!
