The Moment of a New Year’s Birth
A Bit of Prose By Joy Aletheia Stevens
~
In that moment, in that moment.
Suddenly the power of the storm swelled to mighty glory,
And the merry cries of people mixed
With the “chink” of billions of tiny droplets on tin.
~
You could feel it
The moment, in that moment.
~
Lightning lit up the sky,
Mixed together with the fireworks of man.
Rumbling thunder and lightning mixed with man made glory.
In that moment, in that moment.
~
Someone received their first innocent kiss.
Someone shook as they asked the love of their life to be their bride.
Someone was born, someone died
In that one moment.
~
As the lightning and thunder swelled,
Joined together with mans celebration
It was as if God Himself leaned down,
As the new year came into His creation.
~
God Himself leaned down
And joined with exultation!
God took the rain
And made a joyful proclamation!
~
And as the rain subsided
And He washed the earth of all its past
I could almost hear His words,
as He surveyed the New Year, His creation.
~
“IT IS GOOD”
~
The clouds parted,
That moment too was now past.
And the moons luminescence shimmered atop the clouds.
Showing the purity of a new years birth.
~
A New Year.
A New Thing.
Fresh.
And Clean.
~
And in THAT moment God spoke to my soul,
And proclaimed the New Year within me!
He again recreated,
And made me whole.
~
Cleansed. Like the rain washed earth.
Fresh. Like a new child given birth.
For the millionth time made new.
A New Creation. Me!
~
And I could hear His words.
“IT IS GOOD”
~
In that moment.
And I find…
Myself.
Washed Clean.
Happy New Year!
