I am so very excited about the new site! I’m so eager for it to be finished so I can share it with you! It’s going to be so great!
Anyway, to update on the current status: First of all the domain, I’ve had some difficulty in making the domain transfer to the new host and site and that has slowed things down quite a lot. It’s been a bit frustrating but my brother assures me that such challenges are actually par for the course in web development and he’s actually never had an instance that transferring a domain has not been a headache. It finally fully transferred late last night. Hurrah!
While waiting for that to run through I’ve been working on updating and accrediting pictures for past posts. It’s A LOT of pictures. There are 257 images in my image library, only a handful of which do not need to be accredited, and most also need to be replaced. I’ve gotten through 91 pictures so far, and have found a few that I completely love. I will probably not finish transferring out images until early September, so even after opening the new site I may still be working on them.
I’ve decided on a theme!!!!!!!! I’m so excited about the theme I’ve chosen to go with and purchased it last night. It is built on the Genesis Framework and is by Pretty Darn Cute Designs. I’ve heard great things about the Genesis Framework and I really love everything from Pretty Darn Cute Designs so I’m even more excited about this theme! Now the real design work gets to start!
I’ll be gone with my family camping the week of the 18th, we’ll be up in the mountains far away from internet and cell reception, so beyond a previous scheduling of some automatic posts for the week I won’t be doing much for the site obviously. It will be a much needed break and a fantastic vacation!
At this point I’m shooting for a grand re-opening of The Joyful Truth on either August 25th or September 1st depending on how things go!
I can hardly wait!
