Spring!
A Poem By Joy Aletheia Stevens
For Easter
~
Raindrops falling on windows,
Watering the thirsty ground,
Always sinking down to the lows,
Flowing and making musical sounds.
~
Smells of wet and clean and fresh,
And smells of morning dew,
Waking flowers into a morning stretch,
As the sunshine looks down on you.
~
Hello Spring! Welcome you be!
I welcome your warmth and growth!
Greetings to all the colors I see,
The fruits of seeds, long sown.
~
Burst out with joy, unfurl in laughter!
Teach me, again, of hope and life!
For it was in Spring, came a resurrected Savior,
Reigning in Victory over all strife!
~
Yes, His Victory was in Spring,
As He put to flight the Winter!
In my heart His Victory Rang!
His Love planted firmly, Forever!
~
So now, flowers bloom!
Trees, stretch out leaves in rejoicing!
Worship the One, Returning Soon!
Let praises ring over the morning!
~
So now, Son shine down on me!
Warm every cold place of my heart!
I will walk and rejoice, for I am free!
As I watch another spring start!
