It’s been a long time.

I’ve struggled to decide how to continue this blog. My life is rather different than it was the last time I typed here. Yet I don’t want this little corner of the world to crumble to dust, mostly because I still need a place to write.

Maybe more than ever.

So how do I reconcile this space with who I am and what my life is now?

Let me take a minute to reintroduce myself.

My name is Joy, I’m a mom, a wife, a poet, and a lover of God.

I homeschool two special needs children, one with anxiety, adhd, and autism, the other with non-verbal autism. Autism has become a very big word in my life.

We’ve moved from California to Texas. I miss my mountains every day, but Texas has been good to us. Although we haven’t made all the strides we would have liked we are certainly doing better financially here than in California. Lately my guilty pleasure has been exploring Chinese drama’s, music, language, and culture.

I suppose those are the biggest differences.

I’m still a poet, still a nerd, still collect books with an obsession, still love diving into Lord of the Rings and Narnia, still will push the obsession for all those books aside in light of a true devotion to Scripture.

I still need God to survive my every breath. I still am a weak one dependent on His strength. More so than ever.

And I still need to put words out into the world but have no idea what to do with them.

I suppose that’s why I keep paying a hosting fee every year to keep this blog existing.

So I’m going to start posting again!

I don’t yet know what that will exactly look like. This space needs to grow and change. But I’m just going to begin, and we’ll see what happens.
