Have Tea With Me
A Poem, By Joy Aletheia Stevens
~
Come and have some tea with me,
My dear and precious friend.
Let us speak of life and to be free,
And our Lord and all the good He sends.
~
Or share with me your heart, your grief,
And all that you feel has been rent.
Share with me your tears, don’t be brief.
Share with me, my ear is here, lent.
~
And as we sit here sipping tea,
Let us share our souls.
Let me travel life with thee,
For none of us were meant to be alone.
~
We live in such a rushed, rushed life,
No time to stop day by day
No time to reach out to others in their strife
To distracted by life to pray.
~
So let us stop, and slow down our pace.
Let us remember we are not alone.
Let us reach out, beyond our own place,
And help lead another soul home.
~
So let us stop and sip some tea,
And let it warm us down to our souls,
And I will share my life with thee,
As we walk this world, not alone.
~

This is just beautiful. So neat to consider God to be accessible as having tea, isn’t?! Love it!
Joy says
Actually I wasn’t thinking of that when I wrote this, but just a desire to reach out myself to people, but you’re right, it completely applies!
