Take My Fears
A Poem by Joy Aletheia Stevens
~
Take my fears,
Blown away from here,
Like so many leaves,
Caught up in the breeze.
~
My worries for naught,
In Your hand they are caught,
Flown away before Your grace,
The beauty of Your face.
~
What I have I to dread?
All my paths You have tread.
Your victory is here.
All I must do is draw near.
~
Follow You through this land.
Take any, and all, from Your hand.
Keep my eyes, alone, on Your face.
Drink deeply of Your grace.
~
The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

Thanks for this poem Joy. It’s about the fifth blog post I’ve read tonight about not worrying. I love how you said, ‘My worries for naught, in Your hand they are caught’
God is so able, no matter what we face. Our job is simply to entrust it into His capable hands.
I have a specific issue that is looming in my future, and have succumbed to worrying about it much too often. Thanks for the encouragement to trust God all the way!

I’m so glad my poem blessed you! I can have such a hard time not fearing or worrying at times. I actually wrote this poem while at a Women’s study at my church and we were talking about fear. I often fail in this area, but God is faithful! We will learn won’t we? 🙂
