Glory to Your Name
A Poem, By Joy Aletheia Stevens
~
I cannot, Lord, express Your glory,
And so my life becomes this story:
Only to always say “Holy, Holy.”
Holy to Your name.
I am not the same.
~
Oh Lord Your indescribable beauty,
My soul, my mind, have but one duty,
My life this sacrifice of wonderful cruelty,
To bring Glory to Your name.
Your glory I’ll proclaim.
~
In quiet whispers and loud proclamations,
Over rooftops and before nations,
In silent steps and stilled motion,
Your glory my life will proclaim.
A sacrifice to Your Holy Name.
~
And as the rain wets my face,
My parched heart comes face to grace.
Saturated is me, whom You’ve chased.
And I am so changed.
I am not the same.
~
Glory to Your Name.
