Broken song.
A poem, By Joy Aletheia Stevens
~
Lord I worked myself into a ditch,
And I cannot get out of it.
I’ve tried so hard on my own,
But I can’t do it alone.
~
This time it’s gunna have to be You.
I finally realize that it’s true:
On my own I cannot find my way.
So finally I kneel and I pray.
~
I come before You now,
Broken.
Like a piece of porcelain
And finally, at Your feet I bow.
~
I’m not forsaken.
I was mistaken.
You were here all the time.
You never left, it was only I.
~
And so now I realize,
There’s been tears in Your eyes.
You’ve been loving me all along.
~
Did I stop loving You?
I finally realize that it’s true:
That on my own I cannot find my way.
So finally I kneel and I pray.
~
I come before You now,
Broken.
Like a piece of porcelain.
And finally at Your feet I bow.
~
I’m not forsaken.
I was mistaken.
You were here all the time!
You never left, it was only I.
~
It was only I.

Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; Psalms 26:2
I wrote this a long time ago, as a teen working through the pains of life. We all, each of us, have broken places in our lives we need to give to Him. We all, each of us, have places we feel are forsaken. We are NEVER forsaken.
